the saturday

Kategori: In English

last saturday i had my last (among the very few) party in Gothenburg! I took a break from the home exam to drink some wine with dear friends.

Despite lack of own wine i managed to get some, probably because of my excellent social skills and totally charming eyes... Or it could be the more likely reason that Dana had gotten some wine from her friends and wanted to share...

The party was in the to me unknown suburb of gothenburg in my friend Kjells enormous house. I tried many times to change the music but the natives were too many. I have realized that Gothenburg is the alternative town in Sweden, plenty of synth music is played everywhere and so also at this party!

After some drinks you can manage to listen to anything :)

No but seriously, great evening and im happy i one last party in Gothenburg this semester, I think I so deserved it! This semester has been too many long study days instead of long party nights. I just hope the thesis grade will make up for the effort!

Kjell is half Asian?

Conversations

I just got off a conversation with Mr Bo and we talked a bit about the fact that he is coming to visit me this summer.

I told him that we will drink wine everyday so he will feel a bit like home. In France apparently everyone has a wine cellar (of course!). Or as Bo like to call it: "Wine cave" :)

I told him that we dont have any wine cellars in Sweden, we only have meatballs in our cellars...

Bo - Oh really?! That's so cool!
Me - Yes we have one meatball from 1967...
Bo - Really?!

Hahaha! oh those frenchies and their swedish prejudice!

I have to learn how to do these kind of jumping pictures...

Be ready with your camera for our next vacation Bob! ;)

Paris part 2

Kategori: In English

first an announcement,
people complained on my tie knot! tzzz, talk about hitting the one who is already lying down... ;)

So now more stories and pictures from the fashion capital!

The second day in Paris me and Bob was going to meet our thesis company Pschhh in Montmarte. The old hooker neighbourhood where you can find loads of strip bars, the famous Moulin Rouge, porn shops as well as one of the cities most beutiful churches; Sacre Couer... Everyone needs religion, eeh?

Unfourtunately the weather was not so very good, partly raining so were mostly running around in the little cafés and souvenir shops. Since it was raining too much we decided to go to the company a bit earlier. Luckily we did because of course we got lost in the little streets. I could never thought that Paris had so many tiny streets everywhere! I've never seen such a town...

Luckily for us Bob had her tiny computer with her so we could go to Starbucks and log online to find the address (I had somehow written the address to our hotel instead of the company...)

Look at the pidgeon in the background!!! This in the combination with the face of joy to find where we are! HAHAHAHAHA

After a long interview the weather were better, Sacre Couer is a beautiful church and probably with the best view!

The best buy (and unfourtunately the only shopping I could afford in Paris) was this Shirt!

Paris je taime

In the evening we went bananas and decided to go and see the Eiffel tower by night. So so beautiful, we have tonnes of crazy pictures. Bob published an album on facebook. Try if you can see them here

freedom is just around the corner!

I went up today to be in school at eight to do the final presentation of the thesis. I was in time and had decided to look professional (which i already decided the day before...) and wear a nice white shirt and tie. I was about to take on the shirt before eating breakfast but then i remembered again that its not a very good combination to eat breakfast when being totally over-tired... (i would have half of the food on the white shirt!)

Sooo i decided to get totally ready before taking on the shirt and tie. With plenty of time to go to the tram, I open my closet, take on the shirt, find my tie...

TO NOTICE THAT IT IS UN-TIED!

crap indeed... i dont know how to tie a tie!

Luckliy skype was close to hand so i called the only timezone that is awake at 7.45 in the morning, Taiwan! Mr Bo helped and after some time i guess i learned how to tie it! ;)

The presentation went really good anyway and our mentor (who will grade the thesis) defended the paper more than we did! I really want a god grade on this, it would be a perfect end for my studies!

Look at that tie...

Now its "just" the home exam left!

A monster exam... aaaaaaahhh!

what to do

Kategori: In English

... when it comes to nature!?

Today its freezing again, like autumn! I guess its fine for now since i still have plenty of work to do. But next week it'd better be sunny!! Then i will try to work up some tan since it will be my last week here in Gothenburg and my last chance to use the balcony! :)

Here are some pics from the very summer-feeling weekend when me and Bob was forced to sit inside and work. (the picture is taken at a very short break) ;)

First time wearing shorts outside for this summer! And they are new! Love the colour...

I miss Paris!

Kategori: In English

I still have so much to tell about my Paris trip a few weeks ago, we'll see when i have time to write something about it. What i know is that it is the most beautiful city... And beautiful architecture.

I think im gonna print this and put up on my wall, what do you think?!

Mr M said that you can print large posters in Germany for only a few Euro, im pretty sure you have to pay ten times of that here in Sweden! Maybe i will make an order instead

Im now a master!

Kategori: In English

With master i mean that i have now finished the master thesis! Today, ten minutes before the deadline, me and Bob took the thick piece of paper to the course coordinators' office.

The feeling is sooo nice! The thesis has not been graded yet but i have a very good feeling that it will be apprecieted. I will know more on thursday when we have the presentation and opposition of the paper.

For your potential interest (haha) the thesis is written in english about touch screens and what its abilities are as a communication tool. We have interviewed a company in Paris that's working with this and their client and we found out that it touch screens are very useful to sell products in retailing! Maybe you will use one in the store one day...
It has been a very long process to this day but right now i feel that it was all worth it! I wanted to write this thesis because i really want a career abroad, hopefully companies will want me more now! The abstract was written in english and in french (thanks to mr Bo!) so hopefully someone will find me interesting in Paris :)

It was a long weekend to make the very last fix of the thesis! Here is Bob searching for anything in my landlords fridge that she could eat, haha!

This is how the analysis is written, one hand with the cocktail and the other one on the computer!

This picture was taken right before we turned in the paper! Look at the faces, thats pure joy! ;)

We celebrated our big day with sushi, victory has never tasted so good!

If anyone wants the thesis, feel free to ask! (Hahaha, like that ever would happen, its fifty pages full of marketing word poop!)

Summer is here

Kategori: In English

So it has been one week and two days since i was in here! that is really just too too bad... i wonder how many readers there still are out there?

Well i did have my reasons, when i came back from Paris I had a few days before i went home to my family and then off to my old university Växjö for some reunion time!

Over the week, i have had a lot of up and downs in my mood, from tears of laugh to pure sadness. Long story and im sorry but some things are just too private to be mentioned here on the blog...

Right now im fine anyway and i hope that things will be settled so i can breath out, relax and enjoy the summer that very suddenly has arrived to Sweden!! Just this week the temperature went from 14C to 25C! Extremely nice...

The only thing though is that i cant fully enjoy it since me and Bob have to sit inside and work with our master thesis! We are so close to being done now and it actually feels really good this far and im sure we will make it done until the deadline on monday. We only have to put together the analysis and the rest of all small fix which shouldnt take longer time than this weekend. After that there is still the final seminar and a take home exam in another class... Im feeling positive though so i will just try to keep that feeling!

Someone had very brutally vandalised the fountain on Järntorget here in Gothenburg by putting soap in the water! :) It was foam everywhere and small clouds of foam was flyin around in the air, the perfect time for a little picture, new shirt, new/old pants!

And belive me, im still gonna post the rest of my travel blog from Paris AND the story about the best reunion weekend! it will have to wait until i have some rest from the thesis, otherwise i will be working over time! ;)

Paris, the arrival

Kategori: In English

So Mr M was nice enough to drive me all the way to Cologne where we said good bye and I went on the high speed train to Paris. After (as always) being totally lost within the train i found my seat and it was indeed a pleasant ride! I recommend the high speed train to anyone travelling in Europe! I got a French Thalys train this time, i heard some german kids saying that it was a new train so that is maybe why it was so nice ;)

I was surprised of how easy it was to see when i left Germany and entered Belgium. Bright stone houses was changed to dark and older brick buildings. Suddenly there was no more houses and only never ending fields of green and yellow, this was France. An amazing view to any swede i think.

Caroline called me to tell me that she could pick me up and take me to a restaurant where I was going to meet some more of my fellow friends from Taiwan.

Agathe was of course late as usual! But now i also know why she is, as the real Parisian as she is, the motto rules:

"In Paris you are never late!"

Tai gui le reunion!! Agathe, Caroline and I went for a crazy China trip together. It was so nice to meet again!!

Well, just because you live in paris it doesnt mean you know where to find the Eiffel tower... ;)

On the bridge over Seine

Beautiful Notre Dame! I never thought it would be so white

The day ended at a restaurant with Bob's friends, eating very typical french food. Delicious but oh so fatty!

The jumping picture of the day: :)

Totally exhausted of the long day, me and Bob found the way back to our hotel in the best district in town ;)

im tired of sleeping alone in my bed

I am thinking of you

Sweden is not a part of Europe

Kategori: In English

Hello dear bloggiblog! Haven't been writing now for an eternity but as usuall i have an excuse. Internet has not really been prioritized in Paris! this amazing amazing place :)

I have said many times that i have arrived to my favourite city and now i have to re-do my list again, Paris is my new favourite even though its totally flooded with frenchies! I got used to them in taiwan i guess so now they were not too overwhelming actually, more very welcoming actually!

I have have taken almost 800 pictures from paris and i have already posted them on facebook but as usual the best photos will be published here on the blog! ;) Right now i just dont know where to start though, i guess i will have to publish every day for itself!

More or less, me and Bob did all Paris or all of the top 10 guide book anyway! This meant loads of walking and early mornings and days full of sightseeing! Me and Bob are really the perfect most dedicated tourists!

Right now im just bored to be back in Sweden, the continent is much more green than here in Sweden. Probably because its also much warmer than here! People feel much nicer also, especially in germany. Just their language is made to feel much more polite and welcoming.

Like in Siegen when I went to buy some bread at the bakery the lady greeted me with a Guten Morgen and said good buy with Auf Wiedersehen und schönes wochenende.. so sweet!!
And when i was in Paris and Caroline asked a lady for direction, she ended the conversation with something like: Merci beaucoup Madame and have a nice evening!

Europe (the continent) is cuter than Sweden, even the roads are tiny in the big city and there are small monuments in every street corner. Every block has its own little bakery and local cheese/sausage store.

cute cute cute...

Deutschland

Kategori: In English

Hallo, guten tag, schönes wochendeende und auf wiedersehen!

Ahhh, i had forgotten why i applied to so many internships in germany, people here are nicer than in sweden and food and alcohol is super cheap!

So i have finally arrived to Marcus apartment in one piece, despite all my nightmares about crashing concorde's and nucelar explosions im here and im happy! I still hate ryanair though, they always have the worst locations and I had to pay extra because since my hand lugage was too heavy. but its still pretty impressive that i could fit in 19 kilos in that little bag!

After a lot of friendly germans, lost in train stations and running between trains i ariived in Siegen and finally got to meet mister M again!

We didnt want to waste any time so we bought beer and went to a park. Its so much warmer here than in sweden, summer temperatures!

Yesterday was a bad hangover day but still we went to the university library, got some work done. Later we saw the prime minister Angela Merkel and in the evening we sat at an outdoor bar and had cocktails, just an ordinary day... :)

I got the opportunity to talk loads of german this far as well. im really loosingthe words but as long as i get to listen and understand, mmm :)

Deutschland, ich mag!!

Soon, sooooon

Kategori: In English

Tomorrow i will finally go on my Eurotrip 2010!! Im getting a bit nervous but mostly excited.

I hope that:
- Ryanair wont take my bag so i have to pay extra
-  i wont crash due to a ash cloud (yes im getting more and more nervous to fly the more flights i have behind me)
- I wont get a personal bancrupt due to too much party
- i hope i will party so much that i will get personally bancrupt

Right now im longing to talk German again!! Oh my god, its been such a long time. WHen i imagine that i ill totally surrounded by only german speaking people it gives me goose bumps of excitement! (yes quite sick isnt it...) Its also the fact that they will only be talking Hochdeutsch! so i hope i will understand everything (sorry Alex ;) )

Wine evening

Kategori: In English

The landlords was away this weekend and so i finally got the opportunity to invite some friends home. It doesn't feel good to ta have them running around in the house if I would try to have a small party just in my room.

Would seem a bit weird no?

Well since i dont have so many friends here in Gothenburg anyway, the party turned into a night of TV and gossiping with just me and Bob. The wine made the evening a bit more interesting though because soon we were singing Backstreet boys songs and dancing to korean songs.

The wine tasted so good and on top of that i also ate chips with really fatty dip sauce. I have to take some extra time in the gym tomorrow!

Best dance group ever?

Kategori: In English

A friend of mine posted this video on facebook the other day. Asians are crazy and this dance performance is just hypnotic! It looks like they did the whole dance in one shoot, which makes the video even more hypnotic.

I couldnt stop starring, amazing dance crew

ps. Bo, they have stolen some of your dance moves!

I miss Taiwan

Kategori: In English

I shouldnt have done it... but i did it... I read one of my friends blog from Taiwan last year and dreamt back to the lovely country in the east.

I miss it all so much right now! The weird stuff, the funny situations, the nicest people and the best weather

Im not gonna read my own blog inserts from my semester there because then im sure im gonna burst into tears!

So everyone that is still over there, enjoy some for me too! And to all the exchange students that is still there, enjoy your time abroad because its the best experience ever. I promise you that if you are tired of taiwan right now, you will miss it anyway after one week back in your home country!

So im sending some love to the sweet potato!
Funny coincidence right? ;)

Cooking a lá français

Kategori: In English

Today is not an ordinary because:

- its friday
- i have gotten much done on the thesis
- i have cooked non-asian food

Yes i got inspired today by Bo (not Bob) and started cooking some french food! I am after all gonna go to Paris soon so I'd better get inspired!

The food was more rich of fat then I thought and since I had bought enough of vegetables to feed an entire army, it gave the result that I am now over full with food and will only be able to roll instead of jogging today...

It was delicous though!
Paprica, creme fraiche, squash, onion, tomato, pesto, spaghetti, chicken. All in a wonderfull squishy mess!:)

Shopping

Kategori: In English

It feels like friday today... Been to school, took a cup of tea and then shopping :)

I needed some new pants before going to Paris and I thought it was a good day today since my ass seems to be of normal size again. And for once i found exactly what i was looking for! (plus some more beautiful stuff...)

I just love Zara, found the pants there and H&M had a little sale today so i couldn't resist to go in there for a little look. I came out with a t-shirt and a well-needed new scarf

Back on track

Kategori: In English

I think I can now officially say that I am back on track!! I can now fit into all of my old clothes, im so happy!

The other day i wore my skinny jeans (didnt hurt one single time) ;)

Today i tried on my chinos that I actually broke in Taiwan because my ass was too big...! (i cant belieive i just wrote that... you really get the naked truth when reading theadamlife blog!) Mom fixed them this weekend and i will take that as a symbolic act.

My mom fixed my pants, I have finally fixed back my body ;)

I make my own fashion

Kategori: In English

Look what i made from a pair of old jeans that I never use anyway...

I found these jeans a few weeks ago when I was cleaning my closet. I havent used them really for years because they have been to loose and looks a bit old fashioned. These attributes are perfect though for trashing and wearing a hot summer day! I also used a very special "technique" to trash them. I dont think I should reveal how but I can tell you that I did not do it myself. If you have some imagination though you can see what kind of method i used ;)

Maybe i should trash them some more though...

I hope the summer arrives soon so i can start using them! If i would wear them outside now i would freeze on the spot!
